I love this recipe, but I have found that 1/2 cup of ice water is not enough for the pastry part… so I used 1 cup.. has anyone else noticed that?

Thank you so very much for the beef patties recipe. I just got back from the Caymans and had Tastee’s Jamaican Beef Patties and Island Tastes’ patties, so I wanted/needed to make my own, since it is very difficult to find them here in Florida (Orlando) and in Nova Scotia, Canada, where we reside for 6 & 6.

I made the beef patties and they came out great, but the dough was a little tough to roll out. What did I do wrong?

I LOVE JAMAICAN BEEF PATTIES WHEN I WAS LITTLE. I GROW UP EATING JAMAICAN PATTIES IN JAMAICA. MY GRANDPARENTS GAVE TGHEM TO ME TO EAT. THEY ARE SO GOOD. I WISH THAT I HAVE SOME TO EAT RIGHT NOW.

I live in a city where it’s hard to get authentic Jamaican food, what a relief to find the site. These patties took me right back to the Jerk Pit in Montego Bay. Awesome!
